Intelli-tech, specialists in fire systems, is in search of a Construction Sales Rep for our Northern California market location.

Overview:
The primary duty of this position will be to professionally represent Intelli-tech and promote the sales of fire suppression, fire alarm, pre-action sprinklers, and early smoke detection systems. The prospective candidate will be responsible for the entire sales process including generating and following up on sales leads, meeting with potential clients and conducting a ‘needs assessment’, quoting/bidding systems to meet those needs, closing sales opportunities, and ensuring profitable growth of the company in an enthusiastic and timely manner.

Primary Functions:

  • Sell and promote Intelli-tech systems to potential clients.
  • Generate leads through company client base, referrals, and cold calling.
  • Self-manage day to day activities; appointment setting and meeting with potential new clients.
  • Develop and maintain an active pipeline that will support achieving the designated sales plan.
  • Establish and maintain lasting contacts/relationships with customers.
  • Prepare, follow-up and close client proposals.
  • Respond to customer needs in an enthusiastic and timely manner.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, communication, and industry knowledge to our clients.
  • Assist construction team to insure projects are delivered to our customer’s satisfaction. Help team with project milestones, invoice questions, delivery dates.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years working experience including a successful history of outside sales.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED, college degree preferred.

Skills Requirements:

  • Customer oriented interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong sales skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak well. Communication skills are very important with this role.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Must understand the construction business. Be able to read diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office Suite,
    Outlook, and the internet to obtain answers to industry related questions.
  • Experience in the bidding/negotiating process preferred.
  • Effective listening, questioning, and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of fire suppression and fire alarm systems.
  • Past history of success selling into the contractor market.
  • NICET certification, with understanding of NFPA codes preferred.

 

Fire Alarm Technician

Intelligent Technologies and Services, the leader in fire protection solutions and services that protect people and assets has an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Technician.

As a Field Service Technician, the qualified individual will provide technical support for end users of Fire Suppression / Fire Alarm Systems. Performs routine technical inspections and diagnoses system problems. Coordinates with the customer and/or engineering department to help resolve problems as quickly and as cost effectively as possible. Preventative maintenance and repairs on the latest technology within the industry of fire suppression (such as Halon, CO2, Inergen, FM-200, etc.), fire alarm systems, early warning air sampling systems (such as Vesda and IFD), water leak detection systems (such as Permalert, Liebert and Trace Tek), hydrogen gas detection systems, and wet/dry pre-action sprinkler systems, foam systems and dialer communication systems.

Deliver and pickup fire suppression tanks, rebuild and recharge FM-200 and Halon 1301 tanks at the office or remotely. Relocate devices and tanks due to remodel and construction jobs.

Perform software programming via laptop on Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Control Panels.

Perform final testing with Fire Department’s on new installs, pre-testing and functional testing of new Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression systems. Provide Leads for service or new construction whenever possible. Assist with As-Built updates whenever possible.

Maintain a professional attitude and deliver outstanding customer service. Fill out expense reports and truck reports. Keep assigned company vehicle clean and driven safely. Provide on the spot Inspection Reports for each piece of equipment serviced, with condition of equipment and any recommendations for repairs required.

Ideal candidates must possess the following in order to perform the functions of the job:

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED)
  • Two (2) years of technical Training
  • Solid Verbal communication skills needed to accurately describe problems and communicate with customers

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Associates degree in a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word / Outlook).
